During the early years of the Dark and Light a number of fundraising performances were organized with the aim of raising funds and widening support. These included:
A RACE FOR TIME
June 1970 at St Peter’s Church Walworth
Launch event – A sharp review about black and white people in Britain.
THIS MAGPIE WORLD
St Mary Abbots Theatre, Vicarage Gate
An evening of poetry, music and drama, at Performers included Paco Pena (flamenco artist) and actors Derek Griffiths, Rudolf Walker, Diana Rigg, Norman Beaton and Joss Ackland.
ALL STAR VARIETY
July 1971 at Fairfield Hall, Croydon
Performers included Eartha Kitt, Tony Blackburn , Jon Hendrick, Cy Grant, Derek Griffiths, Tony Hatch & Jackie Trent.
