Celebrating Dark & Light Theatre

Celebrating 50 Years since DLT began

In 2019 Longfield Hall Trust received funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to deliver a community engagement project for adults and young people. The project introduced participants to the story of DLT together with encouraging local adults to reminisce about their experiences of 1970s Brixton. A series of drama workshops culminated in a performance on 25 October 2019 to a packed hall. During the workshops the groups were visited by DLT founder Frank Cousins and Director Ian Wooldridge. They shared their memories and answered questions from participants.

PLAQUE UNVEILED

On 27 October 2019, a blue plaque was unveiled at Longfield Hall as a permanent reminder of the significance of the Dark and Light. The plaque was organized by Nubian Jak Community Trust. It was unveiled by Frank Cousins and fellow actor Rudolf Walker.
