Sunday 15 April, 11am and 2pm
An exciting opportunity to see the London premiere of this magical show which tells the story of a little chimney sweep and his transformation into a water baby. As he plunges into a surreal aquatic world the audience is invited to follow him into the murky depths and become immersed in his floating dream. The show is performed entirely to specially commissioned music and uses wooden string marionette puppets. The production is inspired by the novel of the same name by Charles Kingsley.
Water Babies is suitable for children aged 4+ and their families. The show lasts for one hour with a short interval.
Tickets are £7 for children and £9 per adults and can be booked here. String Theatre’s last performance at Longfield Hall was very popular so do book soon!
String Theatre is a London-based touring company that presents long string marionette productions in a custom built stage. The company was founded in 2010 by Stan Middleton – third generation marionettist from the Puppet Theatre Barge – and Soledad Zarate, who trained in Stan’s family theatre in 2007.
Water Babies is their third production. Previous productions Red Balloon and Insect Circus have toured extensively across Europe, India and South Korea.
